I love the Fall, because with that comes Fall Festivals. Most years for about a month or so we go to a festival every weekend, as we have several that we love to attend every year. This year, we had a problem, 3 of our favorite events were the same weekend!!! So we chose to attend our favorite, a mud bog!
It has been a long time, about 7 years, since hubby and I got to go to a mud bog, and we had never taken Conner. So this year, our heart prevailed, and we decided to go to the mud bog. Well, we have never been to Iron Horse Mud Ranch in Perry, FL. So we decided to give it a try. This weekend was the Super Bog and Trucks Gone Wild were there.
If you have never attended a mud bog, this would be a great one to start with. Over 500 acres and THOUSANDS of people, it is SO MUCH FUN!!!! People come from all over the country to come out and play in the mud.
I could never tell you exactly how great this was, and since pictures speak louder than words, here are some of the photos I took at Iron Horse Mud Ranch.
As this was my first time at Iron Horse Mud Ranch, I was so impressed with it! These photos are from just one of MANY mud holes. They even have one hole just for ATV's!
Don't worry, you don't have to have an ATV or Mud Truck to enjoy this event! We just sat on the outer edge of one of the holes and watched everyone else. And you would not believe the amount of people that take their "everyday drivers" into the holes! It is so much fun!
There is plenty of room, and so many people bring motor homes and spend the entire weekend. No motor home, NO PROBLEM! There are tons of people that bring their tents and just camp out for the weekend.
One of the things I loved about Iron Horse Mud Ranch, is that their #1 concern is the safety of all guests. Due to that, there are NO VEHICLES moving after 7pm. You can walk around as much as you like, but no vehicles. And don't worry, at 8pm they had a concert on Friday & Saturday night, this time it was JT Curtis.
We had so much fun! My son loved to go "racing" on the ATV around the ranch. And it is not over yet! If you are in the area, make sure to go by tomorrow, Sunday Ocotober 23 until 4pm and check it out!
Another great plus is that they give 50% discount for all Active Military & Vets. (To recieve the discount you must present a DD214, VA Health Card or a Military ID.)
I have been to several mud bogs, and this is BY FAR the biggest and best I have been to yet!
Can't make it this time? Don't worry, they do this twice a year, once in the Spring & once in the Fall. So make sure to follow their Facebookpage for updates on the next event.
Have you ever been to a mud bog? I would love to hear your thoughts and comments below.
Happy Muddin'
